About Menta Rapé (Hapé)

Menta Hapé is a regular strength blend from the Yawanawa tribe of Acre, Brazil — combining tobacco from tribal lands, Tsunu ash (Platycyamus regnellii), and Amazonian mint (Mentha arvensis). It is one of the few rapés built around a single aromatic plant, giving it a character as distinct and recognisable as its name.

Where most rapés arrive with weight and gravity, Menta enters like a cool wind. In Brazilian folk practice, mint (hortelã) is a staple of ritual herb baths and defumações — burned or steeped to "esfriar a cabeça," to cool and clear the head before ceremony or reflection. The Yawanawa blend carries this quality: reviewers call it "big medicine without the punch" and "gentle enough for daily use" — "very uplifting, refreshing, as only Menta can be." Whether in deep meditation, shadow work, or everyday centering, it brings a settling clarity that goes well beyond the freshness of the plant alone.

Storage & Freshness

It is not recommended to store rapé in the refrigerator as condensation may form inside the container upon removal.

What is Rapé (Hapé)?

Rapé (hapé) is a traditional Amazonian preparation crafted from finely ground plants, botanicals, and tree ash, used ceremonially by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin across many generations.

Blends vary widely — most fall into three broad categories: Spirit & Ceremony, Grounding & Release, or Strength & Clarity — each reflecting the intentions of the tribe and maker. Traditional use is ceremonial, approached with clear intention and respect for the plants and the tradition.

Please approach this rapé with care and clear intention — best used in ceremony or with conscious purpose.
