    To Sterilize your Equipment

Sterilize your equipment by following these steps:

1/ Wash the mason jar, lid, and any other equipment (like tongs or a funnel) thoroughly with soap and hot water. Rinse well.

2/ Place the mason jar, lid, and other equipment in a large pot. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the jar and equipment by at least an inch. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil.

3/ Once the water is boiling, set a timer and let the jar and equipment boil for at least 10 minutes. If you're at an altitude above 1,000 feet (305 meters), add an additional minute of boiling time for each additional 1,000 feet of elevation.

4/ After the boiling time is complete, use clean tongs or a jar lifter to remove the hot jar and equipment from the water.

5/ Place the sterilized jar and equipment on a clean, dry surface to cool. You can also leave them in the hot water until you're ready to use them.

6/ Once cooled, your mason jar and equipment are sterilized and ready for use. It's best to use them as soon as you can to avoid any potential contamination.

    To Sterilize your Water

1/ Clean an appropriately sized pan with soap and water.

2/ Place your clean water into the pan and bring to a rolling boil.

3/ Once the water is boiling, set a timer and let it boil for at least 10 minutes. If you're at an altitude above 1,000 feet (305 meters), add an additional minute of boiling time for each additional 1,000 feet of elevation.

4/ Don't let it cool down, we'll use this water right way!

    Making Katukina Soothing Sananga

The formula for making the soothing Katukina sananga is 2 parts sananga powder with 5 parts boiling water. For this formula, you may use grams and ml interchangeably. This means that for every 2 grams (or 2 ml) of sananga powder, you should add 5 grams (or 5 ml) of boiling water

For example, let's say you want to make a small batch of sananga eye drops using 10 grams of sananga powder. Here's how you would calculate the amount of boiling water needed: sananga powder: 10 grams, Boiling water: 10 grams × (5 ÷ 2) = 25 grams or ml. So, you would mix 10 grams of sananga powder with 25 grams (or 25 ml) of boiling water.

1/ Place sananga powder and boiling water in a sterlized mason jar. Stir and then loosly replace the lid, Wait for the decoction to cool to room remperature.

2/ Strain the mixture using a cheesecloth or nut milk bag.

3/ [Optional] Add 5% colloidal silver as a natural preservative. For example, if you have 100 milliliters of sananga liquid, add 5 milliliters of colloidal silver.

4/ Store the cooled and filtered sananga in glass dropper bottles or a glass jar inside the refrigerator. The freshly made sananga will last at least 4 months when refrigerated.

Pro Tip: You can easily scale this recipe up or down depending on the amount of sananga powder you have or the quantity of eye drops you want to make. Just remember to always maintain the 2:5 ratio of sananga powder to boiling water.
